About us

Who are we?

Beau-pair was founded by Suzanne van Dijk-Beemster. Suzanne has already had 4 au-pairs in her house and has had good and not-so-good experiences with them over the years. She believes in the au-pair idea, but with the right personal guidance and match. She likes nothing better than helping people and providing the service that suits their needs and wishes. With her background in aviation and the events sector, she is a true hostess who quickly senses who needs what. She was also a high school student in Australia herself at the age of 17 and did her graduation internship for event management in Hong Kong. She knows better than anyone what it is like to live in someone's house and deal with new cultures.

Suzanne lives with her partner, 3 children Beaudine aged 10, Juliëtte aged 8 and Louis aged 2 in Amstelveen.

"My partner and I got very restless at one point with the babysitter changes at our house. Since I fly and have irregular working hours, it became very troublesome. One day one babysitter could do it and the next day she couldn't. Then she would leave on time because she had to be in town for dinner, etc. It went on and on, my husband regularly had to rush out of the office to relieve the babysitter. Until someone drew our attention to the fact that an au pair might be something for us. We had actually never thought about this and it immediately seemed like a good solution to our problem. When our first au pair arrived, we had to get used to it, but we soon found peace of mind. The girls had a regular and trusted babysitter, we could go out together regularly, cooking was done when we asked and the lunch boxes were ready in the morning. If I was flying, the laundry was done and ironed. In short, incredibly nice to have extra hands around and to get some air for us. We really got the quality time back for our whole family."
